Robot "Dogs" Used To Enforce Social Distancing

Authorities in Singapore are now using robot dogs to enforce social distancing policies. The robots are the "Spot" model manufactured by Boston Dynamics. The company's website ominously warns they are "changing your idea of what robots can do," which may be true, but probably not in a good way.

Boston Dynamics' products are particularly reminiscent of the mechanical law-enforcement automatons depicted in the 2013 movie "Elysium," in which the impoverished citizens of a post-apocalyptic Earth are controlled by a small group of elites, thanks to the deployment of an army of security droids.

As has become increasingly the case, our day-to-day life is growing to resemble what was once far-fetched fantasy.

Key Points
